  • 350g steak
  • 1 tbs oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 100g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 sachet Schwartz Steakhouse Sauce
  • 300ml milk
  • 30g unsalted butter

A rich steakhouse-style stroganoff with steak, mushrooms, onion and creamy sauce.

  1. Heat a frying pan over a high heat. Rub the oil over the steak, season well and cook to your liking. Remove from the pan and set aside to rest.
  2. Meanwhile, fry the sliced onion and mushrooms for 5 minutes, until softened.
  3. Combine the sauce mix with the milk in a jug, then pour into the pan and bring to a simmer.
  4. Slice the steak into thin strips and return to the pan, along with any resting juices and the butter.
  5. Warm through, then serve with rice, noodles, mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
