- 1 tablespoon oil 450 grams (1 pound) minced beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 400 grams (14 ounces) tin chopped tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato purée
- 2 teaspoons Schwartz® Oregano
- ½ teaspoon Schwartz® Ground Allspice
- ½ teaspoon Schwartz® Minced Garlic
- ½ teaspoon Schwartz® Sea Salt
- 200 grams (7 ounces) (dry weight) macaroni pasta
- 1 sachet White Sauce Mix
- 300 millilitres (½ pint) semi-skimmed milk
- ¼ teaspoon Schwartz® Cayenne Chilli Pepper
- 175 grams (6 ounces) Cheddar cheese, grated

- Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
- Heat oil, fry the minced beef and onion for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato purée, Oregano, Allspice, Garlic and Salt. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the macaroni in boiling, salted water until tender. Drain.
- To prepare the topping, mix sachet contents with milk in a small saucepan, add the Cayenne Pepper. Bring to the boil gently, stirring continuously. Simmer for 1-2 minutes, until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and stir in 100g (4oz) of the cheese.
- Spoon the macaroni over the base of an ovenproof dish. Top with the minced beef mixture, then spoon the white sauce on top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
