A classic Italian-style lasagne of layered pasta and a rich tomato and meat sauce topped with a cheese sauce. A great family favourite, delicious served with garlic bread and salad.

Ingredients

  • 450 (1 ) extra lean beef mince beef
  • 1 lasagne
  • 150 (¼ ) water
  • 400 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tomato purée
  • 6 sheets lasagne pasta
  • 300 (½ ) white sauce
  • 50 (2 ) Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.*
  2. Brown mince for 4-5 minutes. Drain excess liquid. Mix sachet contents with water and add to the pan with tomatoes and purée. Bring to the boil, stirring and simmer for 5 minutes.*
  3. Place alternate layers of the beef mixture and pasta into an ovenproof dish, topping with a layer of white sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 35-40 minutes.*
  4. Serve with tomato salad and garlic bread.*
